  • Buddha, Bascha and the Thursday Night Painting Club
This is a very ambitious piece; and, is really almost scupture as much as a painting.  I used acrylics here and pushed and burnished them to give the piece a certain feel.  Additionally, I applied thin pieces of maple wood to raise the surface of the painting and create the symmetrical effects on the surface.  Finally, I cut in a small center opening and lined it with a a piece of copper and so it could hold a pacific coast rock picked up on a trip out to California while I was working with Pollaro Custom Furniture, back in the late 90's.
